THE FRED TRAVALENA
SCHOLARAHIP AWARD
3 children of the arts and who are of military
families at the 1st Annual DARE TO DREAM! AWARDS, at Ruth Eckerd Hall,
Clearwater, Florida. This Annual Event promises to showcase students
trained at the Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth
Eckerd Hall. The final round of other students chosen to compete for
first place scholarships, received $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 for a total
of $23,500.00 awarded this evening.
The Fred Travalena Scholarship
Award was established in 2009 at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Performing Arts
Center, Clearwater, Florida. This Scholarship is given to a school
child in the Arts. Because Fred was so diversified in the world of
entertainment, i.e., comedy, impressions, singing, acting, a composer
and lyricist, it only made sense to be able to choose a child in any
one of the arts so they can further their education and develop their
god-gifted abilities. Fred Travalena never stopped learning or trying
to perfect one talent. In addition to having talents and wanting to
take classes in the specific art of choice, the child must also be
of a Military family. Fred was a veteran because he served his country
in the US Army and always helped his country by entertaining the troops,
whether it be on a USO Tour, at the hospitals, or endorsing and helping
any military man or woman that he could. The scholarship monies will
help the families afford additional schooling and lessons in the arts
they have chosen.
