About Fred Travalena
Entertainer,
Impressionist and Comic...FRED TRAVALENA received his
STAR on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in February 2005. This prestigious
notoriety applauds FRED as one of the top performers
in our country and recognizes him as not only a variety performer, but
a television star, actor of many films, a singer and songwriter/lyricist
and Entertainer who's name will go down in
history as ONE OF THE BEST. FRED recently returned
from a USO Tour where he entertained our troops in the Balkans and Austria,
where he performed at the US Embassy in Vienna.
FRED
TRAVALENA
was born in the Bronx, NY and raised on Long Island. As a young adult
he served in Special Services with the US Army. He moved to Los Angeles
30 years ago to build his world of entertainment. He has delighted audiences
worldwide throughout his multi-faceted career with his characterizations
of highly visible public figures and has earned nicknames such as “The
Man of a Thousand Faces”, “Mr. Everybody”™,
and “World Famous” by NBC’s EXTRA!
FRED
TRAVALENA’s television credits range from hosting his
own television specials, i.e., “THE FUNNY WORLD OF FRED & BUNNI”,
“THE MANY FACES OF FRED TRAVALENA”, “COMEDY IN THE
OVAL OFFICE”, “ANYTHING FOR MONEY” and “BABY
RACES”. Many appearances on National television and news programs
range from: "FOX & FRIENDS", "CNN", "LARRY KING', "VH-1, THE LIST",
"E-HOME ENTERTAINMENT", LATE NIGHT w/DAVID LETTERMAN", "LIVE w/REGIS
& KATHI LEE", "THE TONIGHT SHOW", "NASHVILLE NOW", "BEVERLY HILLS 90210",
"WALKER TEXAS RANGER", "THE LOVE BOAT", movie of the week, "SHOOTING
STARS", the classic series, "KOPYKATS", and the list continues. The
upcoming PAX comedy favorites, "BANANAS" features "A NIGHT w/FRED TRAVALENA"
will air in 2005 and be available in video stores. BRANSON JUBLIEE,
a variety show with performers from BRANSON and around the country will
feature FRED in 6 upcoming shows in 2005. His appearances on many telethons
always help the final totals, as well as his co-host/MC abilities on
the Arthritis Telethon for four years. Continual praise in the feature
film roles as VCR in the comedy, “BUY & CELL”, and Mad-Mad
Mancuso in “THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY” supports his abilities
as an actor.
As a songwriter,
FRED TRAVALENA continues to make in-roads. Michael
Feinstein endorsed FRED as a
"songwriter and lyricist" when he added "LADY
MANHATTAN" to his act. This song is one of 11 originals
written about New York at Christmastime, from "The
Manhattan Christmas Suite". In 1998 FRED
wrote love songs, "We
All Need Love Today" which continues to be a DJ's favorite.
In 2004 the CD, "I
Thought About You", which is a tribute to Frank Sinatra, was
sung and produced by this singer. A patriotic CD, "The
Spirit of America" was written for 9/11 and prevails as one of
FRED's highlights in his act.
As
a variety performer, FRED frequently appears at the
casino theaters in Las Vegas, Reno, and Atlantic City as well as Performing
Arts Theaters around the country, and “In-Concert” performances
for many Fortune 500 Corporations. A concert show during the Holiday
Season, “A HOLLYWOOD HOLIDAY CONCERT” filled with all holiday
music as well as voices of popular TV & Movie Stars is a major hit every
December.
FRED
was honored recently when he was asked to lay a wreath at the Tomb of
the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.
on behalf of the USO, which FRED is very dedicated to and travels to
foreign countries to entertain our servicemen. He was also honored
by Club Italia with a Merit Achievement Award for his contributions
to society. He has been honored as Angel of the Year by The Women in
Show Business, an Award of Excellence by the Film Advisory Board, Congressman's
Merit Award for his contribution and support to the POW and MIA cause,
BEST SINGER by the All Army Entertainment Award, and Man of the Year
by the National Italian American Foundation.
